1. Does the teaching profession fullfill all the elements of a profession? Explain your answer.

Profession has 9 elements, the initial professional education, accreditation, skills development, certification, licensing, professional development, professional societies, code of ethics and the organizational certification and all of these are part of a teaching profession. As a College student, I’m in the first element which is the initial professional education and I think that the teaching profession fulfill all the elements of a profession because these elements are needed to become an effective educator.

2. Why does the a profession like teaching require long years of initial professional education and continuing professional development after the long, arduous initial professional education?

According to Merriam Webster, profession is a type of job that requires special education, training or skill. In other words, a profession like teaching require a long years of initial profession education and continuing professional development after the long, arduous initial professional education because it is also a better preparation or a training to become ready in teaching all the time.

3. Is professionalization synonymous to professionalism?

When we talk about professionalization and professionalism, it is not synonymous but they are related to each other because professionalization is to make an activity into a job that requires special education, training or skill while professionalism is the skill you will use in making an activity into your job.
